One thing I've learned from a cracked rib.

Last week I cracked a rib. Thankfully it's not too severe and with some curtailed activities, it ought be healed in 2 - 3 weeks. 

What a reminder of the importance of core training! We can't twist, bend, push, lean, run, bike, or ride the bus or even breathe-deeply without using our torso. 

It emphasizes the value of core training for everyone, whatever the sport. 

What are your favorite ways to strengthen your core? 

I wish I could do the Daily Dozen today. I did manage the plank and that felt good.

How long can you comfortably remain the plank position? 30 seconds, 2 minutes, 5 or more?
