Coast to Coast on the John Muir Way
A two week supported trip between the West Coast, hiking through the western highlands, with historical tours of Stirling and Edinburgh, ending in Dunbar at the former home and birthplace of John Muir.
Based on John's 'In The Footsteps of a Saint" expedition and book. This hiking tour is rich in history and scenery. Each day of the two week tour will be organised with the care and thoughtful approach that John has practiced over two decades of expedition leadership. We'll have fun, see beautiful scenery, learn history and enjoy wonderful food and great company.
Honoring Muir's literary successes as well as his lifetime in nature. John has invited Portland based Author and nature- writing coach, Christi Krug. At the end of each day Christi will facilitate a fun and inspiring writing session for anyone wanting to practice; it can be travel writing, nature writing, poetry, journalling or penning the perfect postcard!
The trip will also visit some of Scotland's famous art and historical museums as well as castles and palaces along the route.
Between our USA and Scotland team we provide the highest quality support in everything route-planning, accomodations, food selection, pre-trip planning and selection of equipment/clothing. The result is an un-rushed and comfortable approach to travel on this historic and spectacular walking trail, and to experience the birthplace of John Muir.
