The saying, "An ounce of action is worth a ton of theory" rings true with outdoor fitness and wellness.
I enjoy teaching the Daily Dozen everywhere I go and I know of people and groups doing it all over the world.
It's usually the first thing I cover with clients and groups because it's a great teaching tool to explain safe effective strength training for anyone. The class can be tailored to focus on learning individual skills to improve your results -- or as a train-the-trainer session if you plan to lead a group at your running club, church, office or with friends.
In less than an hour we cover the essentials of athletic movement: Breathing, posture, neutral-spine, the three main planes of movement. We practice how to move safely and efficiently in a way that protect back, knees, shoulders and other vulnerable areas of the body. We do this while teaching how to perfect core exercises like the Push Up, Squat, Lunge and Plank.
The Daily Dozen is designed for:
- Practicing safe and efficient movement skills
- Increasing range of motion
- Toning major muscle groups
- Preventing injury
- Improving balance
- Increasing flexibility
- A quick energy boost
We can do the one hour session anywhere; your home, office, church, park or favorite outdoor location. At the end of the session you'll have had a great workout and learned some some core skills. The benefit of this is you'll get optimal results every time you repeat the session.
If you are a group leader, we'll go over teaching skills and prompts that will help you lead others.
Everyone will receive a laminated Daily Dozen poster that you post on your wall or take outside for your workout.
