Oh the places you'll go!

I'm very happy to share that I've partnered with Pacific Northwest Adventure Travel leaders, Evergreen Escapes, to lead hiking and backpacking trips around the world.

Jake Haupert is the founder of Evergreen Escapes. We've known each other since 2006 and I've watched with admiration as the company has grown in Seattle and Portland. Their client care is outstanding and expertise in the travel industry is second to none. Jake and his team all share a love of nature and adventure, something that is inextricably woven into the programs and services Evergreen Escapes offer. Their values include sustainability, responsibility and protection of children.

In no small way, it's a dream come true for me. While I've spent a night or two on high mountains and enjoyed that, my heart has always been in hiking and backpacking. I love the richness of forests; the beauty of rivers, lakes and waterfalls. So it brings me immense joy to to lead the occasional adventure trip around the world with guests and clients. I'm thrilled to be working with the team at Evergreen Escapes and fully embrace their Embark - Engage - Enrich ethos.

For some coaching clients, having an adventure trip as a future goal provides a solid motivation. Partnering with Evergreen Escapes, I can offer the kind of expertise and care that I want for guests and focus all of my efforts on coaching and leading trips. Working together, we plan to lead two or three trips each year and I'll also lead the occasional Columbia Gorge hike from the Evergreen Escapes Portland location.

Kirsten Gardner is the International Specialist and our point of contact at Evergreen Escapes. She has a passion for outdoors and is the Chairperson of Seattle Inspiring Connections Outdoors, a non profit group who takes inner city youth on outdoor trips.

Currently I only have plans to run two trips in the next year, one will be my seventh visit to Tanzania where we'll climb Kilimanjaro and visit the Serengeti. That trip is on June 16.

Our first trip working together will be in April, I'm thrilled to visit New Zealand for the first time.

It's been on my list for years. We'll be hiking and we'll also make time for kayaking and camping. Stay tuned for details, the trip dates are April 9 - 24. Google Aoraki, Southern Lakes and Milford Sound. If you are a hiker, it'll blow your mind.  Some images below.
