The team did very well today. The strategy is, as the African saying goes, "slow like an elephant, strong like a lion!"
They are now warm and cozy at Barranco Camp, surrounded by amazing plants like the giant senecio, heathers, shrubs, lobelia and lush grasses.
Today was also a test for the team as they reached an altitude of 15,500 feet on the top of Lava Tower under the southern ice fields of Kilimanjaro.
Everyone is in good spirits and doing a wonderful job of helping each other while taking care of eating, resting and organization. It is a joy for them to be there and they are grateful for the opportunity to be climbing with their Tanzanian friends.
In just two short days they will be attempting their summit climb so keep the positive thoughts flowing!
